Adriatica A3732 Moonphase

A tabletop cinematography session for the Adriatica A3732 Lady Moonphase – a multifunctional Swiss piece with day, date and lunar phase complications.

The fine horizontal grain of the dial shifts dramatically with lighting angle – too direct and the texture vanishes, too raked and the subdials lose legibility. The final setup balanced diffused key light with a tight secondary source to resolve the guilloché in each subdial independently from the main surface.

The gold mesh bracelet – hundreds of micro-links scattering studio light – required careful flagging to preserve its fluid, textile-like character. The moonphase disc demanded the lowest light ratio to hold its deep blue saturation against the surrounding white dial.
